This Privacy Policy describes how My Pet Journal ("we", "us", or "our"), based in Spain, collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: name (display name), email address, and password (stored hashed).
- Pet information: details you add about your pets, such as name, species, breed, photos, vaccines, treatments, visits, and reminder dates.
- Uploaded files: receipts, vet documents, and images you choose to upload.
- Subscription & billing data: processed by our payment provider; we store the subscription status and a customer reference, not full payment card data.
- Technical data: basic log information such as IP address, browser type, and usage events needed to operate and secure the Service.
2. Why We Collect It
- To create and maintain your account and provide the journal features you request.
- To send vaccine and care reminders you have enabled.
- To process subscriptions and prevent fraud.
- To improve reliability, security, and the overall product.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Store It
Data is stored with our cloud infrastructure provider, with encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access is restricted by row-level security so that only you — and family members you explicitly invite — can view your pet records and uploaded files.
4. Sharing With Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data with service providers that help us run the Service:
- Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions.
- Cloud hosting & database provider — application hosting, storage, and authentication.
- Email delivery provider — for reminders, invitations, and account emails.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments.
5. Family Sharing
If you invite family members to your household, those members can view pets, vaccines, receipts, and reminders in your household. You can remove members or revoke invitations at any time from the Family page.
6. Your Rights
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Spanish law, you may request to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal data. You may also withdraw consent and object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@mypetjournal.life.
7. Data Deletion
You can delete individual pets, records, and files in-app at any time. To delete your entire account and all associated data, email support@mypetjournal.life from your account address. We will action verified deletion requests within 30 days, subject to legal retention obligations.
8. Retention
We retain account and pet data for as long as your account is active. Backups may persist for a limited additional period before being overwritten. Billing records are retained as required by applicable tax and accounting laws.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
10. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted in-app or by email. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
